SEPTA closed the Broad Street Subway between Walnut and Erie indefinitely after a fire was started at Girard when some ingrate threw a bag on the electric rail.Packed shuttle buses are carrying would-be passengers from Walnut to Erie, but over crowded buses are continually ignoring major stops.
$25,000 in damage was caused to the system but no one was injured. The ATF is investigating and offering a $5000 reward to information leading to the arrest and conviction of the d-bag responsible for the blaze.
